2024
The Beacon
We had an opportunity of serving alongside The Beacon, an organization that serves individuals experiencing homelessness in Houston.
Mission of Hope Food Packing Event
Our team spent a day packaging 20,000 meals for hungry children in Haiti through Mission of Hope.
Annual Golf Tournament
This years annual golf tournament supports the USMMA Houston Alumni Chapter, funding future mariner initiatives and scholarships for Houston-area cadets. The event also featured a fundraising dinner for Frontline Response, aiding their mission to rescue individuals from human trafficking.

January
The Katy Pie Run
We had the honor of being a part of the Katy Pie Run last. The Katy Pie Run raised funds for Camp Hope, a program with a mission to provide a safe space for trauma victims and post-traumatic stress victims to experience healing.
June
Camp Hope
We were honored to have the opportunity to provide food and volunteer at Camp Hope, a dedicated program aiming to create a secure haven for trauma and post-traumatic stress survivors, facilitating their journey towards healing.
July
Mission Trip To The Dominican Republic
We were given the chance to travel to the Dominican Republic, where we engaged in prayer and offered encouragement to the local pastors within the community.

The Houston Food Bank
We had the incredible honor of volunteering at the Houston Food Bank, sorting and packaging nutritious meals for families in need throughout the greater Houston area.
March
Top Golf Tournament
We had the pleasure of hosting our 2nd Golf Tournament with Frontline Response, raising funds to stop human sex trafficking in the city of Houston.

2022
Thank you for joining us at our 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting Mercy Ships! Together we raised $17,000 for the crewing fund!
June: The Ballard House
In June, the Core Group Resources team got to spend time volunteering at the Ballard House! We wrote encouraging letters to the residents, staff and caregivers. We shared a breakfast and had many insightful conversations with the residents.
January: The Beacon
Our team got to spend a morning caring for people experiencing homeless by washing clothes and serving meals.

October: The Houston Food Bank
During our time at the food bank, we were able to sort the donations into different categories and throw out expired food that was not safe for consumption. This food will later be packaged for delivery to families or distribution centers like churches. Our team served a total of 40 hours, worth $780 in labor costs.

2021
The Maritime & Intermodal Topgolf Charity Night
On November 4th, Core Group Resources and Sunburst Cares hosted a great evening of TopGolf for a good cause!
This event raised funds for the PTSD FOUNDATION – CAMP HOPE, PROJECT PROTECT OUR CHILDREN AND MERCY SHIPS.
We are planning to make this an annual event each fall. We look forward to having more players join us next time!
On March 29th, 2021 We hosted our 1st Golf Tournament supporting Mercy Ships at Falcon Point Golf Club in Katy. It was a day of celebrating being outside, playing great golf, and winning prizes. We capped it off with a BBQ Buffet Dinner and Raffle! Together we were able to raise $20,000 for the Crew Fund.

This October, despite the pandemic, the Core Group team volunteered at the Houston Food Bank - packing food for distribution to hundreds of families in need.

2019
In 2019, CGR hosted an charity night to help end Human Trafficking in Houston, to help heal heroes suffering from PTSD and help transform communities with International Care Ministries. Our 1st Maritime & Offshore Charity Night raised over $25,000 for local non-profits.
