Core Group Resources Core Values – Results-Oriented

By Bob Sutton - Core Group Resources COO

To be results-oriented, you must constantly refine, learn, and change as you go, because even though the shortest distance might be a straight line, the actual process is a crazy zigzag. If we don’t refocus on what we’re trying to achieve, then we get caught off track. As leaders and managers in an ever-changing industry, we must always be alert for opportunities that could propel us and our clients forward or obstacles that could slow us down.

In other words, results-oriented is the way we focus on achieving our goals. A goal is a target you set. A result is aiming and hitting the bullseye. The phrase “goal-oriented” is more common, but it doesn’t encompass the level of action wrapped in “results-oriented”.

Results-oriented is a new Core Value our executive team voted to introduce during Q4 of 2022. We removed our previous Core Value, “Improving lives through career transition,” because it was already contained within our mission statement, “Connecting People to Destiny.” Removing it also made room for two new Core values, Results-Oriented and Self-Motivated.

Before adding results-oriented, our Core Values were all big ideas. We needed a tangible value centered on daily practice. This brings it down to a moment-by-moment choice.

Being results-oriented means that we are focused on action, with an outcome that ensures clients get the result they want. All too often, recruiters and others can be locked in analysis paralysis. We train our team to take action and focus on the desired outcome. We work with consistency and care to achieve the goals we set out to accomplish, and then we set new ones. By focusing on clear objectives without distractions, our commitment to the process leads to the highest levels of performance and potential.

Results mean we are fulfilling client needs, which is the key to a good job.

Picture a bake shop. Beautiful pastries and cakes are displayed in the front. The kitchen has a streamlined process for each step – mixing ingredients, baking, chilling, decorating, and packaging. When clients come to us, they want results. They don’t want the ingredients or a raw cake. It’s our job to deal with details, mess, and process to give our clients the finished product with sprinkles on top.

We are results-oriented because that is what clients need. Clients don’t want to be dragged into the behind-the-scenes process; they want a finished cake. We fulfill your needs so you can focus on your business.
